APPLE'S IPHONE & THE STARBUCKS WI-FI CONNECTION
Have you ever been sipping your latte at Starbucks, heard a catchy new tune and had an impulse to buy the song immediately? Well,
now you can — if you've got your iPhone with you.
Thanks to the touch's Wi-Fi connection and Apple's partnership with Starbucks, the Starbucks button will magically appear on your
touchscreen whenever you're in range of a Starbucks store. Tap the Starbucks button and you can instantly preview and purchase the song Now
Playing in Starbucks, as well as the last ten songs played, plus other Starbucks-branded tracks from featured Starbucks Collections. It's
fast and easy — song previews pop up almost instantaneously.

Click the song's price and the dollars and cents swivel to reveal a green Buy Now button. Tap Buy Now, and you'll be prompted for
your iTunes Store password. Once you enter your password, the song will download, and at an impressive speed, too. An 8MB song should take
a minute or less.
You can also shop the entire iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store while sipping your latte in Starbucks, though you must be connected to the
T-Mobile network.
To access the list of available Wi-Fi networks on your iPhone, tap Settings, then tap Wi-Fi. Select "tmobile" to join the T-Mobile
network. (After you've connected to the Starbucks network once, your iPhone will store "tmobile" as an approved network.) From here,
finding your way to the iTunes store is a cinch. Tap Home, then tap the iTunes icon and you'll be transported to The iTunes
Store.
Inside the iTunes Wi-Fi Store, you can listen to 30-second sample tracks, buy songs for 99 cents apiece — and download them
directly to your iPhone. However, you won't be able to surf the Internet for free through this Starbucks T-Mobile Wi-Fi connection unless
you have a T-Mobile HotSpot account. Of course, you can always iPhone's included AT&T EDGE network to access Internet services. You'd
need to first disable your T-Mobile connection by navigating to Home > Settings > Wi-Fi. Tap the blue arrow next to "tmobile," then
tap Forget This Network. Alternatively, you can turn off Wi-Fi in the Wi-Fi area of your touch's Settings.
TROUBLESHOOTING TIP:
If you're having trouble
connecting to a network, renew your hotspot's DHCP lease. Tap Settings > Wi-Fi Networks and choose the network you wish to connect to.
Then in the DHCP panel, tap the Renew Lease button.
The Apple-Starbucks Wi-Fi connection is also available for iPod touch owners running the 1.1.1 software or higher, as well as any
computer running iTunes 7.4 or higher.
All in all, the Starbucks-Apple collaboration lives up to the easy browse-and-purchase experience we were promised. And if you're
